公爵级的代号为23型，23型设计中采用了多种隐身技术，目前是皇家海军的主力战舰，主要承担为特混作战编队/补给编队/运输船队执行以反潜为主的多用途护卫任务，是世界上数一数二的反潜护卫舰，现役13艘.
满载排水量：4 200t。标准排水量：3 500t。舰总长：133m。舰宽：16.1m。吃水：5.5m(螺旋桨处)，7.3m(含声呐)。航速：28kn，15kn(柴-电推进)。
续航力：7 800 n mile／15kn。
